Our August meeting was so much fun we were able to paint and
decorate tote bags and we had amazing results. Here are 2 pictures
of the ladies hard at work.
Chef Gus presented a beautiful buffet for us at our meeting in
August. He did great finger food so we could work on our painting
and decorating and have lunch at the same time.
Friday, September 4 luncheon, speaker will be our favorite
weatherman Frank Billingsley. Frank is our Galveston hero after his
Hurricane Ike coverage. Many of us
were able to get a first hand look at our homes long before we were
allowed back on the Island all because of his coverage. This is a
great meeting to bring the husbands and friends.
Kitchen Corner…………
This recipe was the invention of Max Swischuk (Janie’s grandson)
when he was only 8 years old. Today he is 20 and a graduate of the
Cordon Bleu School in San Francisco and works in Austin TX. It is a
real kid pleaser.
Pink Lemonade Chicken
1.
Cut up Chicken you can do legs, drumetts, breasts or what ever you
like.

Marinade:
- Frozen concentrate pink lemonade
- Fine chopped fresh rosemary
- Fresh thyme
- Salt
- Pepper
- A few red pepper flakes

Place marinade in a large plastic bag along with the chicken pieces
and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least one hour and no
more than two.

Cook on a medium hot grill doing the bigger pieces first and let
them get a nice crisp on them.
This is not an exact recipe but remember it is from an 8 year old.
We have cooked it many times and it has never failed.
Our fall fashion show will be presented by J. Bangle Galleries.
Elaine Bangle always finds wonderful outfits for us. Our meeting
will be held on the same day as the Rudy T golf tournament and the
club is making special arrangements for us. Be sure to read the
October newsletter for special instructions on parking.
