Dear New Member,
The Galveston Country Club Ladies' Golf Association is an organization of women who share a passion for the game of golf. Our members include all handicap levels. Not everyone plays on a regular basis, but everyone enjoys our social activities.
Our official play days are Thursday @ 9:00 A. M. and the 1st Saturday of each month @ 10:00 A.M. We plan the yearly schedule in January and play weekly games such as Five Clubs, Revert Three to Par, Match Play, Low Gross/Low Net, Flag Tournament, etc. Although your golf game may not be at your best at times, the camaraderie with the ladies is always up to par.
We hold various golf tournaments throughout the year. The Ladies' Club Championship takes place the first Wednesday and Thursday in October. A player must participate in ladies' day competition a minimum of six play days during the twelve months prior to the annual Club Championship to be eligible for the tournament. We also have a Member/Guest Tournament and the Sea Gull Invitational.
The LGA also participates in an interclub league. We play golf once a month (April – October) at various private golf courses across the area. Golfers must have an established 36 handicap to participate.
The executive board consists of the president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. Our business meetings take place the second Thursday of every month after we play golf or at 10:00 A. M. at the club in case of inclement weather. LGA membership fee is $20.00 a year and $5.00 LGA hole in one club.
